SAME OLD STORY

I went to Officeworks this morning and spent a few hundred on acrylics. Two paints I rely on were out of stock, so I planned to travel to the Mornington store, but instead I went to a proper art supply shop where I spent another fortune — and it’s already felt worth it. I’ve completed only two pieces so far, but they belong to a series and are coming along nicely. I was sent an invitation to an exhibition that’s a few months away; I’m not sure if I mentioned this in earlier posts, but it’s something I want to exhibit in. The only problem is that the two paintings I’ve just finished are very heavily textured, and I’m not sure they will dry in time. The money I spent today went into the one piece I created — the paint is unbelievably thick and I may have been overly generous in its application, but that’s the kind of work I wanted to make.

I’m on a roll at the moment and I want to continue but it’s 4:30 and the sun is going down. I'll leave it to look forward to waking up to tomorrow morning, It will give me a reason to get me out of bed. Photos to come soon.
